The Senior Executives of Centuria Property Funds have extensive experience in the property and funds management industries. Together they offer diversified yet complimentary skills with strong industry backgrounds.
Since 1990, the Senior Executives of Centuria Property Funds have arranged property syndicates to a total value in excess of $1.25 billion.
Jason Huljich – CEO
Jason became Chief Executive Officer of Centuria Property Funds in July 2006 and a Director of the Centuria Capital Board in November 2007.
In his role he is responsible for providing strategic leadership and ensuring the effective operation of Centuria’s property portfolio. Jason is a hands-on leader and is actively involved in all corporate transactions, property acquisitions, investment structuring and regularly meets with investors and their advisers.
Jason has extensive experience in the commercial property sector with specialist skills in private property investment. Prior to joining Centuria, Jason worked for a prominent Sydney property development company and in 1997 joined the Hanover Property Group where he specialised in lease and sales management for the group. He was intimately involved in the syndication arm of Hanover Group – Waltus Australia, which was responsible for approximately $80 million in property syndication. At the conclusion of the joint venture with Waltus, Jason joined Century Funds Management.
Jason currently sits on the National Executive Committee of the Property Funds Association (PFA). PFA is the peak industry body representing the $32 billion direct property investment industry.
Jason holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Commercial Law).
David Govey – Head of Assets
David has been Head of Assets for Centuria Property Funds since 2006.
He is responsible for the proactive and efficient management of Centuria’s property portfolio in order to maximise the value of each asset. This role involves seeking to improve the performance of each property as well as ensuring Centuria is at the forefront of market and legislative issues including sustainability, compliance, and risk management. In addition David is responsible for seeking updated property valuations as required and arranging disposal of assets.
David has been involved in a broad spectrum of real estate activities for over 30 years with particular emphasis on enhancing asset values through strategic and creative initiatives. Prior to joining Bankminster Properties Limited (subsequently acquired by Centuria) as an Executive Director in 2001, David held senior positions with Colliers Jardine including Australian Managing Director, Managing Director of Singapore and South Australian Managing Director.
David has qualifications in Valuation and Town Planning and is an Associate of the Australian Property Institute.
Rowan Wall – Head of Strategic Property Planning
Rowan has over 25 years experience in the commercial property sector.
Rowan was the founder of Eclipse Property Group specialising in wholesale property syndication, development and management. He is also Principal of Eclipse Financial Group which comprises 10 independent business units specialising in financing, mortgage investments, stock broking, equity investments, insurance, financial planning, investment advisory, accounting and legal services.
In this capacity, Rowan specialises in executive financial planning, investment strategies for superannuation funds, remuneration packaging, retirement planning, ownership structuring, estate planning and personal financial planning.
Rowan is a former Partner of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, and a former Director of Deloitte Financial Services Limited. His previous positions include; Economist – Australian Meat and Livestock Corporation, Group Economist – Rural Press Limited, Lecturer – Real Estate and Valuation, Finance and Money Management, Associate – Godfrey Weston Limited, Director – Duesburys Financial Services Limited.
He holds the following qualifications B. Ec (Sydney University); Diploma of Education; Diploma of Superannuation Management; Advanced Certificate in Real Estate.
John Taylor – Head of Distribution
John became Head of Distribution for Centuria Property Funds in November 2010. Prior to this appointment, John had been a Fund Manager with Centuria Property Funds since 2006.
In his role he is responsible for capital raising for new projects and advising on acquisition strategy and product structuring. In addition John is responsible for investor and advisor relations for the group.
John has extensive experience in the funds management and finance sector. Prior to joining Centuria, John worked for St.George Bank as a Manager in Institutional Property Finance.
John holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) and a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance (FINSIA).
Andre Bali – Head of Development
André has been with the company since 2007 in a Development Management role. The primary responsibility being to add value to its property portfolio through planning and development. André also manages Centuria’s commercial development loans.
These functions encompass both passive and active development of the properties including project management of capital works, managing planning and authority approvals, strategic repositioning of assets to maximise returns, commercial risk management, structuring joint venture’s and market transactions including sales and acquisitions.
André has a wide range of expertise having worked in the private and public sectors on many landmark property developments in a variety of roles from strategic planning, property marketing and leasing, through to construction management, negotiating development agreements and managing outcomes on behalf of clients. Having also run his own business for several years he is hands on and detailed in his approach.
André holds a trade qualification in building, an Honors Degree in Applied Science (Building), and a Masters of Commerce (Land Economics). He has attained a graduate certificate from the AGSM, is a member of the API, and has held the position of Director of a property consultancy business and a not-for-profit organization Habitat for Humanity.
Ben Butler – Senior Portfolio Manager
Ben joined Centuria Property Funds in October 2011. He is responsible for overseeing the asset management of Centuria’s NSW and QLD assets including the development and implementation of strategies to enhance asset value through active asset management and development. Ben works closely with the Head of Assets and Head of Development. In addition, he oversees the valuation program and is actively involved with constant improvement and review of best practice policies and procedures. Ben’s broad skill base enables him to communicate on all levels with particular experience dealing with external service providers and external stakeholders.
Ben has over 14 years’ experience in the property industry including seven years at ING Real Estate Investment Management in the roles of Asset Manager and Investment Manager with the ING Industrial Fund. Prior to this position Ben was a valuer with CB Richard Ellis.
Ben holds a Bachelor of Land Economics (Honours), is a Certified Practicing Valuer, Associate of the Australian Property Institute and Associate of the Financial Services Institute of Australia.
Jeremy Robotham – National Leasing Manager
Jeremy has been Centuria Property Funds’ Portfolio Manager since February 2006, and in July 2011 was appointed the National Leasing Manager.
In his role he is primarily responsible for managing and coordinating the leasing of the Group’s office, industrial and retail assets. Jeremy also provides strategic input into asset acquisition and disposal processes as well as asset management. He holds strong relationships with many of Centuria Property Funds’ external service providers such as leasing agents, property managers, valuers, lawyers and interior designers/builders which is a key component to the successful ongoing performance of the property portfolio.
Prior to joining Centuria, Jeremy worked for Colliers International, in both Western Australia and New South Wales, from 1998, following the completion of his Bachelor of Commerce degree where he majored in Property. During his eight years at Colliers Jeremy worked firstly in its valuation department as a Certified Practising Valuer before moving into the commercial and industrial agency divisions where he was involved in numerous commercial property transactions gaining extensive experience and knowledge in the commercial property sector.
Jeremy is an Associate member of the Australian Property Institute, a Certified Fund Manager, and a Certified Asset Manager. He is also a registered Property, Stock and Business Agent.
Sebastian Ugarte – Acquisitions Manager
Sebastian is the Acquisitions Manager at Centuria Property Funds and joined in July 2010.
In his role he is responsible for identifying, negotiating and delivering commercial and industrial acquisition opportunities for Centuria Property Funds. He has a national focus and oversees all aspects of the acquisition process from initial sourcing, to due diligence and ultimately completion.
Sebastian has a diverse skill base in the commercial and industrial property sectors spanning over 10 years. In previous roles he worked in industrial sales and leasing at Jones Lang LaSalle, structured property finance at Ashe Morgan Winthrop and funds management at Investa Property Group.
Sebastian holds a Bachelor of Property Economics and completed a Masters in Applied Finance at Macquarie University in May 2011.
Ben Harvie – Fund Manager
Ben joined Centuria in October 2009 after moving to Australia from the UK.
As a Fund Manager, Ben is responsible for the preparation of fund budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting. He works closely with the property team to develop and implement fund strategies, and liaises with the finance team to secure and renew fund debt facilities where required. Ben has a very detailed working knowledge of the funds he manages and is available to talk to investors about fund performance and future strategies.
Ben has a First Class Honours Degree in History from Oxford University and a Masters in Property Investment. He is currently preparing to sit his APC to obtain full membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Prior to becoming a member of the Centuria team, Ben worked for five years at the Miller Group Limited, one of the UK’s largest privately owned property companies.
Micah Schulz – Fund Manager
Micah joined Centuria Property Funds in February 2011.
In his role Micah is responsible for the strategic direction of the funds that he manages, along with preparation of fund budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting. Micah works closely with the property team to develop and implement asset strategies, and liaises with the finance team to monitor existing fund debt facilities and secure and renew facilities where required. Micah is available to talk to investors about fund performance and future strategies.
Micah has over nine years of experience in the property industry. Prior to joining Centuria, Micah worked at Investa Property Group from February 2008 initially as a Fund Analyst focusing on new business opportunities and then as the Assistant Fund Manager for Investa Enhanced Fund. Before joining Investa, Micah worked at Trinity Funds Management in the role of Asset Manager and prior to this at Colliers International in the roles of Property Research Analyst, Sales Assistant and then Sales Executive.
Micah is currently an Associate Member of the Financial Services Institute of Australia (FINSIA), the financial services industry’s peak industry body.
Micah holds a Bachelor of Business Management (majoring in Real Estate and Development) from the University of Queensland and a Graduate Certificate in Applied Finance from Kaplan Professional, where he is currently completing his Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance.
Mark Jones – Fund Manager
Mark joined Centuria Property Funds in 2006. He currently manages all aspects of the group’s property operations within Victoria. Mark’s key areas of focus are leasing, property management, fund reporting, sales and acquisitions within Victoria.
Mark has over 15 years experience in the commercial property sector. Prior to joining Centuria, Mark was employed at Jones Lang LaSalle as a Director of Investment Sales both in Sydney and Melbourne. In this role he was involved in sales in excess of $600 million. Mark’s knowledge of the investment market and diverse skill base has made him instrumental in managing the Centuria Direct Property Trust (formerly Over Fifty Direct Property Trust).
Mark is a Licensed Real Estate Agent.
Douglas Hoskins – Fund Manager
Doug is a Fund Manager with Centuria Property Funds and has been with the company since 2006.
Doug is responsible for the preparation of fund budgeting, forecasting, performance reporting, and investor relations. He works extensively with the property team to develop and implement fund strategies, liaises with financiers to secure and renew fund debt facilities where required.
Doug has a very detailed practical experience of the properties he manages and regularly liaises with investors about fund performance and future strategies.
Doug has a diverse skill base in the commercial property sector spanning over six years. In previous roles he has worked in asset acquisitions, asset fund raising and marketing, facilities management, property management, and project management for property syndicates and as a property consultant.
Doug holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Operations Management, Full Property Licence, and a Diploma of Education.
